Pope Benedict XVI appointed Monsignor Edgar de Jesús Garcia Gil, as Bishop of the Diocese of Palmira Valle.
was born on October 13, 1946 in the town of Valle Roldanillo. Studied at the seminary in Carthage and graduated in Teolgía Dogmatic in the Gregorian University in Rome. On August 28, 1971 was ordained priest in the Diocese of Cartago. There he served as parish priest in various communities. Chancellor diocesan seminary professor in Cali and Rector of the Major Seminary of Carthage.
In 1992 he was appointed by Pope John Paul II as Auxiliary Bishop of quality. In 2002 he was appointed Bishop of Montelibano Cordoba, a position he currently plays.
With great joy and jubilation to Christ the Good Shepherd we raise our prayers for our Bishop so that the sheep graze behalf of the Diocese of Palmira. ....
